Hyatt Regency Austin

Austin, TX

Owner, Edinburgh Management, LLC vision for this hotel was to transform its existing Austinite interior into a more contemporary urban property.  This required a major atrium overhaul by the removal of all faux boulders, babbling brook, Texas Lone Star motifs and mission style stonework.

The hotel's location on the beautiful Lady Byrd Johnson Lake became the catalyst behind the new interior design direction.  Lady Byrd's contribution to the Texas highway wild flower beautification program became the inspiration for the overall interior color palette and design motifs used in all the custom carpet patterns.

Emphasis was placed on redesigning the lobby and lobby bar to open up and capture the lake views.  A new  island lobby bar with daybed sofas, torpedo shape joiner tables and swivel lounge chair seating make this bar a destination spot especially during college football season for the Longhorns.  Other guest amenities created on the lobby level include Hyatt's brandname Stay Fit health club and Perks Coffee and More.

To speed up and make guest check-in more efficient, the existing front desk was converted to the new Hyatt pod style desk system which offers self check-in kiosk.

On the second level, the renovation placed attention to redesigning the existing restaurant and ballroom through the use of a soft goods package.  Both spaces received new carpeting, wallcovering, decorative lighting and furnishings.  Additionally, a new business center was created on this level for guest convenience.
