Hyatt Charlotte

Charlotte, NC.

The Hyatt Charlotte was developed in conjunction with Hyatt Development and RTKL as a prototypical design intended to be rolled out for suburban locations.  This concept had been designed for three different cities before making its debut in Charlotte.  One enters the hotel through a seperate very small scaled entry lobby upon which directs the guest into a much larger three story volume atrium space.  Joining these two spaces in this manner gives a sense of surprise upon arrival and provides a degree of intimacy not experienced in many of the larger Hyatt Regency atrium projects.  Centrally located within the atrium is a custom designed water fountain surrounded by black olive trees creating a park like environment.  The three meal restaurant, Scalini's, and Lobby Bar are also part of the atrium volume.  These food and beverage offerings are tucked secludedly around the perimeter of the atrium under the guestroom tower.  Views through to an interior courtyard and into the indoor pool beyond are enjoyed by the guest from most atrium vantage points.
